Free Medical Services
Photo ID is required for medical services.
PREGNANCY TEST
Think you’re pregnant? We offer free pregnancy tests in Oviedo and Orlando, Florida. Our Medical Director authorizes a lab-quality pregnancy test for all patients who request a test and have a photo ID. Trained personnel administer tests. Test results are confirmed by a nurse and shared with the patient by a nurse or a patient advocate.
ULTRASOUND
Pregnant patients may be eligible for a limited obstetrical ultrasound to confirm gestational age and the presence of a viable, intrauterine pregnancy. Even if you are considering abortion it is important that you first have an ultrasound. Over 30% of all pregnancies, even when the test is positive, do not develop into a viable fetus. An ultrasound can rule out a miscarriage in progress or an ectopic pregnancy, which is a pregnancy located in the fallopian tube. Both of these conditions require emergency medical attention and the patient will be referred to a private physician or a local emergency room.
STI/STD TESTING
Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Infections (STDs/STIs) are common. Some can be cured; some cannot. All of them can be transferred from person-to-person through sexual contact. One thing that is not very well known is that abortion has the potential to make some STDs worse, taking what is on the outside of your body and spreading it throughout the reproductive system. If you test positive for Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, or Bacterial Vaginosis and have an abortion before you are treated, your risk of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease increases significantly.*
Comprehensive information about a variety of STDs is available in our clinic. Two of the most common are Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. In 2017, Choices Women’s Clinic offers limited testing for qualified pregnant patients for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
